Jos University Teaching Hospital Holds Orientation for Newly Employed Clinical Staff

The Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) organized a comprehensive orientation program for its newly employed clinical staff to familiarize them with the hospital’s policies, ethical standards, and operational procedures.
The event featured brief lectures on key topics, including:
– Civil Service Rules – Highlighting the regulations governing public service                employment.
– Medical Ethics – Emphasizing professionalism, patient confidentiality, and              ethical decision-making.
– Financial Management – Guiding staff on payroll processes and financial                accountability.
– Legal Aspects of Medical Practice – Addressing malpractice prevention and            legal responsibilities.
– Electronic Medical Records (EMR) – Introducing digital documentation systems    for efficient healthcare delivery.
– Drug Abuse and Stress Management – Promoting mental well-being and coping strategies in a high-pressure work environment.
The orientation concluded with a split session, allowing staff to engage in department-specific discussions and network with colleagues.
The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of JUTH, Dr. Pokop W. Bupwatda represented by Dr. Anna B. Gyang, commended the new hires and urged them to uphold the hospital’s standards of excellence in patient care.
The newly employed staff expressed appreciation for the insightful program, stating that it equipped them with the necessary knowledge for a smooth transition into their roles.
