LEAGUE OF FRIENDS OF JUTH CELEBRATES FESTIVE SEASON WITH PATIENTS IN SURGICAL WARDS

In the spirit of the festive season, the League of Friends of Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) made a heartwarming presentation to patients in surgical wards of the Hospital, spreading joy, and offering support as part of their commitment to giving back to society.

The Chief Medical Director of JUTH, Dr. Pokop Bupwatda, expressed deep gratitude to the League of Friends for their thoughtful and charitable gesture. He called on other well-meaning citizens, organizations, and religious leaders to emulate such acts of kindness, particularly during the festive season, which is marked by sharing and compassion.

The event also had in attendance Rev. Fr. Polycarp Lobo, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Plateau State Chapter. Rev. Fr. Lobo commended the League of Friends for their selfless service and noble initiative. Inspired by the event, he pledged to join the group and will encourage other religious leaders to take up similar roles in giving back to Patients and Society at large.

The Chairman of the League of Friends, Mr. Bernard Kyengson, highlighted the importance of charity and compassion, He referenced the parable in which Jesus said, “Whatever you do for the least of my brothers, you do for me,” emphasizing the spiritual significance of giving.

The presentation ceremony was officially flagged off by Dr. Njem Miner, representative of the Chief Medical Director. He was joined by Rev. Fr. Polycarp Lobo, the Chairman of the League of Friends, and other league members who collectively extended gifts, support, and encouragement to the patients.

Patients expressed appreciation for the League of Friends’ generosity, which brought smiles and hope to those in recovery.

The event concluded on a note of unity and shared it responsibility, reminding everyone of the power of collective effort in making a difference in the lives of others.
