SECOND EDITION OF THE JUCAST KICKS OFF WITH ENTHUSIASM AND HIGH SPIRITS

The second edition of the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) Chief Medical Director Annual Sports Tournament (JUCAST) commenced today with great enthusiasm and participation from the hospital’s staff and management. The event, held on the hospital’s grounds, saw an impressive turnout, including the Top anagement team of the Hospital community.
The tournament began with an inspiring speech by the Chairman of the JUTH Sports Committee, who emphasized the importance of physical fitness and camaraderie among the hospital staff. Following this, Mrs. Roseline Sani, the Acting Director of Administration, delivered an engaging speech that highlighted the role of sports in promoting a healthy work-life balance.
Dr. Pokop W. Bupwatda, the Chief Medical Director of JUTH, then took the stage, expressing his excitement for the tournament and his hopes for it to become a longstanding tradition that fosters unity and wellness among the hospital staff. His speech set a motivational tone for the rest of the day’s events.
The event proceeded with a vibrant departmental march-past, showcasing the diverse teams representing different departments of the hospital. This was followed by a series of novelty events that brought a lot of excitement and fun. Participants engaged in activities such as aerobics, football juggling, and the ever-popular egg race.
The highlight of the day was the Chief Medical Director’s Novelty Table Tennis match, where Dr. Bupwatda himself participated, much to the delight of the spectators. His involvement underscored the importance of leading by example and demonstrated his commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle within the hospital community.
The event concluded with closing remarks by Dr. Naankling Lamu, who thanked all participants for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Dr. Lamu also emphasized the significance of such events in strengthening the bonds between colleagues and fostering a supportive work environment.
The second edition of JUCAST has set a high standard for future tournaments, leaving participants and spectators alike looking forward to next year’s event.
