In celebration of the Diamond Jubilee of PR practice in Nigeria, the Plateau State Chapter Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Bajeh Thomas, Mnipr, represented by
Sunny Dung, vice chairman of the Chapter, led its members on a tree-planting ceremony at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) on Tuesdays, 10th September 2024.
Sunny Dung revealed that in commemorating the milestone of the NIPR in Nigeria, the Institute decided to key into the Green Nigeria Project to emphasize its commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement.
In his address, the CMD of the Jos University Teaching Hospital, JUTH, represented by Dr. Anna Gyang congratulated the NIPR on their significant anniversary, emphasizing the important role that nature plays in healing while acknowledging their contributions to the field of public relations and the community. Dr Gyang also assures the hospital’s support for its staff members to become registered members of the NIPR, reinforcing the importance of professional development and adherence to public relations standards.
The tree-planting exercise was officially flagged by the representative of the CMD, who planted the first tree, symbolizing the start of a greener future within the JUTH community. Other members of management also took turns to plant a tree each.
Also present at the event were the Director of Administration, Head of Domestic Department, Head of Accounts, Head of Stores Department and Head of Works Department, including the Head of Information, Protocol, and Public Relations.
The planting of trees by the NIPR Plateau State Chapter and the JUTH management team underscored their collective dedication to creating a healthier and more sustainable environment for future generations.
