The Jos University Teaching Hospital, through the Federal Ministry of Health, led by the Desk officer Dr. Shetak G. Gilbert, received an Oxygen/gas piping installation grant by Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI).
The piping and installation was done by Engr. Sosan Akpieyi the contractor from Air Separation Nig. Ltd and Mr. Ben Abwa from JUTH.
It is a project that is expected to provide oxygen supply for more than 100 beds in the hospital without the use of cylinders. The project covers Accident & Emergency, Emergency Pediatrics Unit, Gynecology, Dialysis Unit and the Male medical ward.
With this project in place now the entire hospital is now oxygen pipe compliance which means no more moving of cylinders to patients beds, no more cylinder accident within the wards. The training on how to use the newly installed pipeline commences today 4th May,2024 by 11AM.
The inspection was lead by the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Pokop W. Bupwatda and team. After the inspection, he thanked CHAI, Ministry of Health and also extended special thanks to Dr. Shetak for always remembering JUTH as the desk officer in the Ministry of Health.
FORMER JUTH NURSE DONATES ESSENTIAL MEDICAL SUPPLIES TO ACCIDENT & EMERGENCY UNIT FROM THE UK
Nr. Williams Nyam, a former nurse of the Accident and Emergency (A&E) Unit at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), has donated essential medical supplies from the UK to support the department.
