World Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist Day Celebrated with the Theme “Food Connects Us”

The Department of Dietetics marked this year’s World Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist Day with a series of impactful activities, emphasizing the theme “Food Connects Us” which is celebrated annually on the second Wednesday of March, the event highlights the vital role of food in strengthening communities and promoting healthy eating habits.
This year’s celebration featured several key events, including a courtesy visit to Top Management, public sensitization, and nutrition education at the Medical Outpatient Department (MOPD) and Surgical Outpatient Department (SOPD) clinics. The event concluded with a road walk from the Water Fountain to the Department of Dietetics, further raising awareness about the importance of nutrition in overall health and well-being.
During the management courtesy visit, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) was ably represented by Dr. Josiah Njem Miner, the Chief Medical Adviser (CMA). Also in attendance were the Director of Administration, Deputy Chairman of Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC), and the Head of Information, Protocol, and Public Relations.
The celebration underscored the crucial role of registered dietitians and nutritionists in fostering healthier lifestyles through education, advocacy, and community engagement. The Department of Dietetics remains committed to promoting balanced nutrition and ensuring that food continues to serve as a unifying force in society.
