The Management and Staff of the Jos University Teaching Hospital, JUTH observed Breast Cancer Awareness Month ( Pink October) which kick started on Saturday, 5th October 2024 at the Jos University Teaching Hospital by 8:00am.
The Breast Cancer Awareness for the year tagged ” Early Detection Save Lives”, powered by Radiation and Clinical Oncology Department in partnership with Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Esther Tyoden Commemorative Foundation and C-Rad
Present at the event, were top management team, Heads of Department, staff and other individuals of the hospital community and environs.
The Chief Medical Director, Dr Pokop Wushipba Bupwatda in a Press Conference, appreciated the gathering for coming out, he encouraged individuals and private bodies to support those with any type of cancer not only Breast cancer, he said ” Breast cancer or cancer is not a DEATH sentence, it is a normal ailments which when detected on time can be curable”.
He appreciated the survivors of Breast cancer currently working with JUTH in the Radiation oncology department to create awareness to people.
The event featured a road WALK in which the CMD participated, from Tina junction to Angwan Rukuba junction of Jos Metropolis, Plateau State. Tracks and handbills were distributed to people to enlighten the masses about constant checks for early DETECTION of the disease.
