Dr. Pokop W. Bupwatda, Chief Medical Director of Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), recently welcomed a team from the U01 JUTH project during a courtesy visit. The delegation presented the U01 implementation science project titled “West African HPV-Based Self-Sampling for Cervical Cancer Prevention and Control Programme.”
This collaborative initiative involves Northwestern University, the University of Jos, the University of Ibadan, and the University of Science Techniques and Technology of Bamako, Mali. The project aims to enhance cervical cancer prevention and control through innovative HPV-based self-sampling methods across West Africa.
Dr. Bupwatda expressed his support for the project, highlighting its potential to significantly improve women’s health outcomes in the region. The visit underscored the importance of international collaboration in advancing medical research and healthcare delivery.

JUTH HOSTS OPENING CEREMONY OF 19TH ANNUAL NATIONAL NURSE MANAGER’S ’ CONFERENCE
The Department of Nursing Services of Jos University Teaching Hospital, in collaboration with the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, officially commenced the 19th Annual National Nurse Managers’ Conference on 23rd June 2026 at the Tetfund Multipurpose Auditorium, JUTH Lamingo, Jos, Plateau State.
