CLOSING CEREMONY OF JUTH CMD ANNUAL TOURNAMENT (JUCAST)

The Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) hosted the closing ceremony of the CMD Annual Tournament (JUCAST), a vibrant event that saw the culmination of weeks of spirited competition among the hospital staff.
The ceremony was graced by the Chief Medical Director (CMD) Dr. Pokop W. Bupwatda, alongside the entire management team, who showed their support and enthusiasm for the hospital’s annual sporting event. The event, aimed at fostering unity and promoting physical fitness among the staff, witnessed an impressive turnout.
One of the highlights of the day was the highly anticipated sack race, which featured separate categories for male and female participants. The race was a source of great entertainment, as staff members cheered on their colleagues who demonstrated agility and competitive spirit, hopping their way to the finish line in burlap sacks.
Following the sack race, the climax of the tournament was marked by the male football final match which was between the Accounts department team versus the Security department team, a thrilling encounter that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. The teams displayed exceptional skill and teamwork, battling it out for the coveted title. The final whistle blew amidst cheers and applause, with the security department team celebrating their hard-earned victory.
The CMD, in his closing remarks, commended all participants for their sportsmanship and dedication. He emphasized the importance of such events in building camaraderie and enhancing the overall well-being of the hospital staff. The CMD also expressed his gratitude to the organizing committee for their hard work in making the tournament a success.
As the ceremony drew to a close, the atmosphere was filled with a sense of accomplishment and anticipation for next year’s tournament. The JUTH community looks forward to continuing this tradition, celebrating both the competitive spirit and the strong sense of unity it brings to the institution.
