COMPASSION WALKS INTO JUTH AHEAD OF EXTRAORDDINARY WOMEN CONFERENCE 2026
Ahead of the Extraordinary Woman Conference 2026, themed “Stand Firm,” Bishop Tina Bawa of Tina Bawa Ministries International led a courtesy visit to the Management of Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) today, 17th September 2026, bringing cash support, food items and relief materials to vulnerable and indigent patients across the hospital.
Founded in 1999, Tina Bawa Ministries International is a faith based organisation that has combined evangelism with practical humanitarian service for over two decades. Today’s visit formed part of the ministry’s pre-conference outreach, an initiative designed to ensure that patients confined to hospital beds, many of whom may not be able to attend the conference itself, are not left out of its message of love, hope and renewal.
During the visit, the ministry donated the sum of ₦600,000 in cash directly to patients and committed a further ₦500,000 to JUTH’s Indigent Patient Support Account, to support the treatment of stranded and vulnerable patients. Food items and relief materials were also distributed to beneficiaries across the Female Medical Ward, the Emergency Paediatric Unit (EPU), the Paediatrics Ward, the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU), the Oncology Ward and the Psychiatry Ward.
JUTH Management received the delegation led by Dr Njem Josiah Miner, Chairman Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC)on behalf of the Chief Medical Director, Dr Pokop Wushipba Bupwatda. Also present were the representative of the Director of Administration, Mr Tangtur Nangwang; the Deputy Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (DCMAC), Education and Training, Dr Anna Gyang; the DCMAC, Research and Ethics, Prof Chundung Miner; along with the Heads of Nursing, Psychiatry, Medical and Social Works, the Head of Information Protocol and Public Relations and other members of staff.
Speaking during the visit, Pastor Tony explained that the ministry’s outreach programmes are deliberately built to extend beyond the conference hall. He said the ministry combines its conferences with charity, medical outreach and mental health advocacy, so that its message reaches people in hospitals and homes, not only in auditoriums.
Bishop Tina Bawa spoke of a lifelong calling to serve humanity, to bring smiles to people who have every reason to be sad, and to give back through acts of genuine compassion.
Responding on behalf of Management, Dr Miner welcomed the partnership, noting the rising number of admissions at JUTH and the corresponding need for support of this kind. He commended the ministry for its generosity and affirmed the hospital’s willingness to collaborate on future humanitarian and medical outreach programmes.
The courtesy call ended with a group photograph, after which the team, alongside Dr Faith, who facilitated the visit to JUTH, proceeded to the wards for the distribution of donations to patients.
Beyond the value of what was given, today’s visit was a reminder that healing is not confined to medicine alone. It is completed through partnership, compassion and community. JUTH welcomes individuals, faith based organisations, corporate bodies and development partners to join in supporting vulnerable and indigent patients.
