JUTH HOLDS FINAL GROUND-ROUND PRESENTATION FOR 2024

In a significant step towards enhancing the quality of healthcare service delivery, the hospital hosted its final Ground-Round Presentation for 2024, focusing on the critical topic of diphtheria. The event, which included an in-depth analysis of patient cases, was attended by staff from various departments, showcasing their commitment to improving healthcare outcomes.
The presentation featured insights and contributions from multiple hospital departments, highlighting collaborative efforts to tackle diphtheria effectively. Dr. Mafawal Bunah Masok, Director of Public Health, represented the Commissioner of Health for Plateau State, Dr. Cletus Shurkuk. Also in attendance were key officials from the Plateau State Ministry of Health, including Dr. Job Maren Damala, State Epidemiologist; Mr. Solomon B. Butswat, State Disease Surveillance and Notification Officer; and Mr. Amos G. Dapyen, State Laboratory Focal Person.
The presentation on diphtheria covered various aspects of the disease, including its epidemiology, clinical manifestations, treatment protocols, and preventive measures. Case studies were analyzed to provide a practical understanding of managing diphtheria patients and to highlight areas for improvement in clinical practice.
Representing the Chief Medical Director (CMD) Dr. Pokop W. Bupwatda who was unavoidably absent, was Dr. Anna B. Gyang. Dr. Gyang emphasized the importance of continuous education and training for healthcare professionals to maintain and improve the standards of patient care.
The next Ground-Round Presentation is scheduled for March 2025, where further strategies to strengthen healthcare service delivery will be discussed. The hospital administration expressed their gratitude to all attendees and presenters for their dedication and contributions towards achieving better health outcomes for the community.
The event concluded with a call to action for all healthcare professionals to continue their efforts in providing high-quality care and to remain vigilant in the fight against infectious diseases like diphtheria.
