MEDICAL SOCIAL WORK DEPARTMENT HOSTED HER ANNUAL UPDATE COURSE TAGGED SOCIAL SUPPORT

The Department of Medical Social Work hosted a comprehensive training workshop and update course for her staff and other participants, with Associate Professor Dikop Gimba as the resource person, on the topic “Social Support, Advocacy, and Community Development; Medical Social Work Perspective.”
The event held at the hospital’s catering hall and was well-attended by the Heads of Departments and Top management officials, highlighting the institution’s commitment to enhancing the skills and knowledge of its social work professionals.
The opening ceremony saw a significant turnout, with key hospital leaders expressing their support for continuous professional development in the field of medical social work. The presence of these influential figures underscored the importance of the workshop’s topic and its relevance to the hospital’s mission of providing holistic patient care.
Associate Professor Gimba, a renowned expert in social work, delivered an insightful and engaging presentation that covered critical aspects of social support systems, the role of advocacy in patient care, and the importance of community development in enhancing health outcomes. The workshop aimed to equip participants with advanced strategies and practical tools to effectively support patients and their families, advocate for their needs, and foster community partnership.
