Introduction
The Comprehensive Health Centre, Zamko is one of the two secondary health care facilities of the Jos University Teaching Hospital. The centre was established and commissioned on the 21st December, 1996 by the then minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Lt. Gen. (Dr.) Jeremiah Timbut Useni (The Sardauna Plateau and Nassarawa). The facility is located in Zamko, Langtang North, along the Langtang- Zamko-Yelwa road on 8.997953 and 9.846926 coordinates. It is about 206 km away from its headquarters in Lamingo, Jos North local government area.
The facility is a 50-bed capacity hospital providing various health care services to the host community and citizens from the neighbouring states of Bauchi, Nasarawa, Taraba, and Benue States. It is one of the renowned Snake bite research Centres in Nigeria. The hospital is currently under renovation.

Leadership
The Comprehensive Health Centre, Zamko is headed by a Medical Superintendent who is consultant Family Physician – Dr Mashak Joseph GUSEN. Although, the Centre is coordinated by the department of Family Medicine, JUTH, the medical superintendent through Head of Department reports directly to the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee of JUTH.

The Centre provides the following services
- Training, Research and Development e.g. Snake bite research, Training of resident doctors, community health officers, health technologist etc.
- Snake Bite management
- Referral services
- Health education and health promotion services
- Maternal and child health services e.g. antenatal care and delivery, childhood immunization, family planning etc.
- Treatment of common general surgical and medical cases
- Counselling, medical and social services
- Community services in form of outreaches to religious centres, markets, schools and surrounding communities.
- Management of adult and paediatric clients with HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and other tropical diseases.
- Other primary and secondary healthcare services numerous to mention.
