
In a display of profound empathy and leadership by example, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, paid a personal visit to the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) on Friday 15th August,2025 where his ailing mother is currently receiving medical care.
While the primary purpose of his visit was to be by his mother’s side, Prof. Yilwatda went beyond familial concern to extend his kindness to other patients within the facility. Accompanied by the Chief Medical Director and members of the hospital’s management staff, he toured various wards, stopping to interact warmly with patients, offering words of encouragement, and sharing in their concerns. His visit brought visible smiles and renewed hope to many who were touched by his genuine compassion.
Demonstrating his large-heartedness, Prof. Yilwatda announced a generous donation of ₦15 million to support the needs of all patients on admission. The gesture was met with heartfelt appreciation from the hospital management, staff, and beneficiaries, as it will help alleviate some of the financial and medical burdens faced by patients and their families.
In addition, Prof. Yilwatda expressed sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses caring for his mother with a cash donation as a token of appreciation for their sacrifices, as well as to the dedicated doctors and nurses on duty across the wards, acknowledging their tireless commitment and professionalism in delivering quality healthcare.
The chief medical director, Dr Pokop Bupwatda commended the APC National Chairman’s act of generosity, noting that such interventions by public figures inspire hope and strengthen community trust in the healthcare system.
