The Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) is proud to host a series of academic lectures by renowned Professor Ulusihewage Nirmala Dushyanthi, from the Department of Anatomy, Genetics and Biomedical Informatics with the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. This distinguished lecture series, running from January 13-24, 2026, will bring together Resident Doctors from various clinical disciplines, including Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics, and more, for a unique opportunity to strengthen their understanding of clinical genomics and its applications.
This initiative aims to bridge the gap between basic medical sciences and clinical practice, fostering interdisciplinary learning and collaboration among residents. Prof. Dushyanthi’s expertise in genomics will provide insights into the latest advancements in the field, equipping residents with the knowledge to tackle complex cases and improve patient outcomes.
Prof. Dushyanthi, a former trainee at JUTH’s Department of Medicine, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table, motivated by her longstanding connection to the institution. Her decision to utilize her sabbatical period to return to JUTH underscores her commitment to giving back and contributing to the academic development of resident doctors.
