The Independent Corrupt Practice and other related offences Commission (ICPC) in collaboration with the office of the Head of Civil service of the Federation inaugurated and inducted the anti-corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) of Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) on Friday, 16th June, 2023.
The inauguration and induction which was carried out in the JUTH Boardroom was having dignitaries from the JUTH management and heads of ICPC plateau chapter.
The Hon. Chairman ICPC who was represented by Mr. Menge A. Tiku delivered a goodwill message on behalf of the Hon. Chairman.
In his speech, he said that inauguration of ACTU is a strong testament and commitment of this Teaching Hospital at being in the forefront of driving the avowed anti-corruption initiatives of the Federal Government through the mandate of the Unit.
The Unit which is saddled with some many responsibilities among which includes, assist management in promoting a transparent and accountable workforce, conducting sensitization of staff on and against corruptions among others. He also encouraged the members to work hard and endeavour to stay on the path of integrity.
The Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee Dr. Njem J. Miner who was standing on behalf of the Chief Medical Director, JUTH said, the management are very happy hearing that the commission will have a Unit in JUTH.
He assured the commission that they run a transparent system in JUTH as a whole and he knows the people that are currently chosen will deliver efficiently at their own ends.
They admonished the committee to be diligent and truthful in carrying out their duties even though challenges will arise because if you want to fight wrong, wrong will fight you.
The committee was inaugurated and inducted by Barr. Bake Along Titus by taking the oath of office.
