
The Chairman of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, Hon. Stephen Gyang Pwajok, today led a delegation on a courtesy visit to Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) to sympathize with and offer support to victims of the recent attack in Barkin Ladi who are currently receiving treatment at the facility.
The delegation was warmly received by the hospital’s management team on behalf of the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Dr. Pokop Bupwatda, who was ably represented by the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC), Dr. Njem Josiah Miner. Also in attendance were key members of the top management team and the Head of the Social Work Department, Mrs. Rhoda Dauji, accompanied by staff from her department.
During a brief meeting at the JUTH Board Room, Hon. Pwajok commended the hospital for its prompt and compassionate response to the victims. He expressed appreciation for the professionalism and dedication of the healthcare workers and emphasized the importance of continued partnership between the local government and the hospital.
Responding on behalf of the CMD, Dr. Njem Josiah Miner welcomed the chairman and his entourage, highlighting the hospital’s unwavering commitment to quality healthcare service. He noted that JUTH remains open to strategic and meaningful collaborations with Barkin Ladi Local Government and other stakeholders to enhance healthcare delivery.
“The hospital’s doors are wide open for positive collaborations that would be beneficial to the people of Barkin Ladi and the masses in general,” Dr. Miner said.
The visit concluded with a tour of the hospital wards where the chairman interacted with victims and offered words of comfort and encouragement.
This visit marks a significant gesture of unity and shared responsibility in supporting the victims and ensuring access to quality care during a time of crisis.
