The Association of Heads of Federal Establishments (AHFE), Plateau State Chapter, has officially commenced its 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM), with a strong emphasis on collaboration, partnership, and constructive engagement on issues affecting member institutions.
The March meeting of the Association, which marks the beginning of the AGM activities, was hosted by Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH). The gathering brought together heads of federal establishments across the state to deliberate on key matters impacting their respective organizations and to collectively chart a way forward.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Association, Mr. Emmanuel Taukek, warmly received members and distinguished guests, expressing appreciation for their continued commitment and active participation in the Association’s activities. He highlighted critical issues confronting the Association and encouraged members to contribute meaningfully by sharing their observations, insights, and practical solutions.
Mr. Taukek underscored the importance of collective responsibility, synergy, and open dialogue in addressing challenges and improving the overall effectiveness of the Association, noting that sustained collaboration remains vital to achieving shared goals.
A major highlight of the meeting was a health presentation delivered by Dr. Yiliji Kuntaap of JUTH, focusing on hypertension and related conditions. The presentation covered key areas including hypotension, high and low blood pressure, cholesterol management, dietary practices, and lifestyle modifications.
Dr. Kuntaap provided an in-depth explanation of the causes and effects of hypertension, emphasizing the need for proactive health management. He urged members to adopt healthier lifestyles through balanced nutrition and regular physical activity as essential measures for preventing and managing hypertension.
The meeting concluded with renewed commitment from members to strengthen collaboration, promote knowledge sharing, and foster a more coordinated approach in addressing institutional and health-related challenges.
