The Yoruba Community in Plateau State paid a courtesy visit to the Management of Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) to felicitate with the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Dr. Pokop Bupwatda, on his reappointment for another term in office.
The delegation, led by the President General of the Yoruba Community in Plateau State, Alhaji Tuofik Imran, was received on behalf of the CMD by the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC), Dr. Njem Miner. Also present were the Director of Administration, Mr. Tunji Adegboye; DCMAC, Research and Ethics, Professor Chundung Miner; staff of Servicom, and the Information, Protocol, and Public Relation Department.
Speaking on the purpose of the visit, the facilitator, Hon. Amos Akinade, said the community considered it important to identify with JUTH Management and celebrate the CMD’s reappointment. He described the Yoruba Community on the Plateau as peace-loving and committed to peaceful coexistence.
Alhaji Imran congratulated Dr. Bupwatda and commended his leadership qualities, expressing the community’s desire to further strengthen its relationship with JUTH.
Responding on behalf of the CMD, Dr. Miner appreciated the delegation for the visit and assured them of JUTH’s continued commitment to providing quality healthcare services to all, without discrimination. He also reaffirmed the hospital’s openness to collaboration with the Yoruba Community and other stakeholders.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Plateau State on Community Relations (Yoruba) conveyed the Governor’s goodwill and appreciation to the CMD and JUTH Management for their support towards the administration’s programmes and activities.
The visit ended with appreciation from the JUTH management, a closing prayer and a renewed commitment to strengthening the existing relationship between JUTH and the Yoruba Community on the Plateau.
