The Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) held a special ceremony in honour of Dr. Orighoye Peter Binitie in recognition of his excellence, dedicated service, and lasting legacy in the development of the hospital’s Neurosurgery Department.
Medical professionals, colleagues, friends and well-wishers gathered to celebrate Dr. Binitie’s remarkable contributions to healthcare and neurosurgery.and also spoke on how he has impacted so many lives
The ceremony commenced with the welcoming of dignitaries, followed by opening prayers and a welcome address that was supposed to be delivered by the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of JUTH. Dr pokop Bupwatda but he was represented by the CMAC Dr. Njem Miner. Goodwill messages from invited guests highlighted Dr. Binitie’s commitment to excellence, professionalism and mentorship throughout his career.
A citation presented by Prof. Yiltok celebrated Dr. Binitie’s achievements and impact on the growth of the Neurosurgery Department. The programme also featured lectures on relevant medical topics, musical interludes, additional goodwill messages, and a cake-cutting ceremony, during which guests took photographs to commemorate the occasion.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Anna B. Gyang, who appreciated all guests for their support and participation in honouring a distinguished medical professional whose contributions have significantly advanced neurosurgical services at Jos University Teaching Hospital.
The event served as a fitting tribute to Dr. Orighoye Peter Binitie’s enduring legacy and his invaluable role in strengthening neurosurgical care at JUTH.
