Sightsavers Nigeria Team Pays Courtesy Visit to the CMD

The Chief Medical Director of the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), Dr. Pokop E. Bupwatda, received a high-level delegation from Sightsavers Nigeria Country Office during a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening existing partnerships and exploring new areas of collaboration.
The visiting team was led by Dr. Nazaradeen Ibrahim, Global Technical Lead for West Africa, accompanied by Dr. Selben Penzin, Global Technical Lead for East Africa, Dr. Joshua Ibenu, Programme Coordinator for Nigeria amongst others. The delegation met with the CMD and members of the Ophthalmology Department of JUTH, key partners in the Plateau State See Clear (Inclusive Eye Care) Programme. Discussions during the visit focused on identifying challenges and barriers to accessing eye care in Plateau State and exploring how Sightsavers can provide further support to enhance the success of the programme.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss emerging areas for partnership, particularly in improving services related to both eye care and ear care across the state. Dr. Bupwatda commended the team for their continuous support and reiterated JUTH’s commitment to inclusive and accessible healthcare services.
