The Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) is currently hosting the 25th Annual Workshop and Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Committee of Heads of Physiotherapy Departments in Nigeria (CHOPDIN). This year’s event centers on the theme, “Enhancing Professionalism through Accreditation.”
Dr. Pokop W. Bupwatda, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of JUTH, applauded CHOPDIN for selecting a theme of vital importance. He emphasized that accreditation drives healthcare professionals to uphold excellence, which directly benefits patients. “Accreditation is a vital tool that encourages healthcare professionals to strive for excellence, ultimately benefiting patients,” he stated. Dr. Bupwatda also expressed JUTH’s commitment to supporting CHOPDIN in their mission to uphold high standards in healthcare, underscoring accreditation as a crucial element in achieving these goals.
The CHOPDIN Chairman, Dr. Fyne S. Achugbue, further highlighted the workshop’s objectives, stating, “Through this workshop, we aim to promote accreditation as a benchmark for quality physiotherapy services, enhancing patient outcomes and professionalism.”
